Mother’s milk is antioxidant, healing, moisturizing and softening, but also, more surprisingly, has a healthy glow, anti-aging and disinfectant properties… By incorporating it into your cosmetics, you can accumulate all these benefits.

And what better way to start than by creating breast-milk soap for a moment of well-being.

A quick and easy breast-milk recipe.

Here’s our favorite Milkymum recipe:

Equipment :

– A bain-marie

– A mini whisk

– Soap molds

Ingredients (For 3 or 4 bars of soap) :

– 150ml breast milk

– 100g grated donkey milk soap

– 30g coconut oil

– 20g honey (Optional! And only for children > 1 year)

Time :

– 10 min preparation time

– 24h in the freezer

– 30 days to dry

Method :

1) Melt soap shavings, coconut oil and breast milk in a bain-marie.

2) When the mixture is homogeneous, remove from the heat and add the honey (optional).

3) Place in moulds and freeze for 24 hours before unmoulding.

4) Dry the soaps on a rack for 30 days, turning regularly.

In an airy room at room temperature

Numerous variants are available:

ð Exfoliating version: With coffee grounds or coconut sugar for the body

ð Exfoliating version: With oat flakes or linseed for the face

ð Extreme softness version: Incorporating white clay

ð Flowered version: With inclusion of dried flowers

Breast milk recipes are an ideal solution for using expired milk, bottle scraps or milk that is unfit for consumption.

It’s also a good solution for using lipase milk that baby refuses to take, because as a soap it remains perfect for the skin, and the smell will be camouflaged by coconut oil or donkey’s milk soap.
